AMI Trained Teacher for ages 1-2 | Montessori First Steps
QUALIFICATIONS:
Written and spoken fluency in English/ Chinese language (IMS curriculum is conducted using traditional characters).
Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) diploma for ages 0-3.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to graceful and courteous treatment of all.
Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal may find appropriate or acceptable.
Flexibility and understanding of the needs of a developing school.
Roles:
Ensure the integrity of the Montessori educational programme within the environment, adhering to AMI curriculum guidelines.
Prepare the appropriate Montessori environment in which the furnishings and materials are complete and correspond to the developmental needs of the age group as well as the individual children in the class.
Ensure the full scope and sequence of the curriculum is fully in practice in the prepared Montessori environment, including materials. Make environment materials as necessary to extend the learning of the child, including the affective curriculum. Support curriculum planning with other teachers and Curriculum leaders in a collaborative manner. Ensure that the programme continues to meet or exceed standards within the context of Montessori pedagogy, in preparation for the rigours of the Montessori Elementary programme at IMS.
Maintain and develop lesson plans, academic records for each student with co-teacher.
Design and implement appropriate curriculum for transition into and out of the Montessori Casa program.
