MEDIA STATEMENT
8th June 2026
The International Montessori School (IMS) welcomes the Social Welfare Department’s conclusion that suspected child maltreatment was “not established” following a Multi-Disciplinary Case Conference (MDCC).
We recognise that this has been an extremely difficult period for the child and family, and for our wider school community. Throughout this process, our absolute priority has remained—and will always be—the safety, wellbeing and support of every child in our care.
The conference brought together representatives from the Social Welfare Department, the Hong Kong Police Force, the examining medical doctor, and IMS staff. Following a thorough review of the hospital medical report, the Police investigation, and the available evidence, the MDCC concluded there was no finding that the alleged child maltreatment incident occurred.
Out of respect for the child and family, and to protect privacy, IMS will make no further comment on individual details.
